The owner Count Degenfeld family was among the first to establish the tradition of wine growing and production in Tokaj wine region. In our days, cratfmanship is perfectly fused with the most up-to-date technologies during the creation of wines made of grapes of first class vineyards. The Gróf Degenfeld Winery was the first in Tokaj wine region to launch completely organic farming and this types of vineyards have been extended up to 35 hectares by now.

A new and young generation of wine maker. An ever happy , optimistic and talented guy, with big-big heart. Just like his wines - full with passions.
The family winery  was established in 1998 can be found in the Szekszárd wine region that has one of the best climatic conditions among the wine regions of Hungary. Wine making on this region roots back to Roman times. The region has many different vine cultivars and as the old saying reflects: „Varietas delectat” – Variety delights. Both white and red wine grape varieties, typically Hungarian ones and well known international ones grow well in this region.
This variety can be experienced in our wines, too: besides our variety true wines the Italian Riesling, Kadarka, Kékfrankos and Zweigelt we would like to introduce the variety of the region through our own wine called Icze, our Bull’s blood and the top quality wine of our winery called Grádus.

The Winemaking: Most of the whites are made by reductive technology, steel tank fermented, but traditionally they make barriqued whites as well from chardonnay and pinot gris.
The reds  are fermented on the skin, 1,5 - 2 years traditionally in hungarian oak,and minimum 6 month bottle aging.

 Tokaj Kereskedőház is the largest winery of the historical Tokaj Wine Region. It is owned by the Hungarian State, possessing a total of 70 ha vineyards and integrating under its operation and supervision another 2000 small scale grape producer with a total of 1100 ha growing area.
 Tokaj Kereskedőház’s mission is to raise the awareness across the Globe on the high quality, unique fine wines of the Tokaj Region. In order to support this goal, the winery is renewing its technical capabilities by adapting industry leading winemaking technologies through investing into a brand new, state-of-the-art, winemaking facility, being built trough coming years.
 Chief winemaker, Károly ÁTS, - who has been awarded by the distinctive “Winemaker of the Year” title in 2012 and who’s wines from the vintage 2013 has already received numerous accolades on domestic and international competitions – is the guarantee for the quality winemaking.
